According to the General Staff, the strike is part of Ukraine’s ongoing campaign to disrupt Russian military logistics supporting operations from the temporarily occupied peninsula.
The General Staff reported that the bridge was hit during the night of June 28. Ukrainian military officials said the railway crossing near Ichki had been regularly used by Russian forces to move troops, weapons, and supplies across temporarily occupied Crimea.
Ukraine also reported striking a Russian ammunition depot near Amvrosiivka in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine’s Donetsk region during the same operation.

The attack follows a series of Ukrainian strikes aimed at weakening Russian logistics in temporarily occupied Crimea. In recent weeks, Ukrainian forces have targeted bridges, ferry infrastructure, fuel storage sites, air defense systems, and other military facilities across the peninsula, seeking to complicate Russia’s ability to reinforce and supply its forces in southern Ukraine.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has previously outlined the “Logistic Lockdown” programme, a campaign of medium-range strikes aimed at disrupting Russian supply chains behind the front line.
The initiative focuses on targeting supply routes, fuel facilities, ammunition depots, command posts, and major transport corridors linking temporarily occupied Crimea with Russian-controlled territory in southern Ukraine.
