The Ukrainian military released the information to counter claims in Russian media regarding alleged strikes on civilian infrastructure within the occupied territories. The General Staff clarified that its operations strictly target military infrastructure and locations used for military purposes.
According to Ukrainian military sources, the targeted "Rubicon" unit is a specialized Russian military formation formally known as the Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies.
This special unit is reportedly responsible for carrying out regular drone strikes against civilian populations and infrastructure across Ukraine.

"Manipulative information is being actively spread in Russian media regarding the alleged engagement of civilian infrastructure objects on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We inform that the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliver strikes on military infrastructure and objects used for military purposes," the General Staff statement said.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Armed Forces struck multiple Russian military sites, including elite drone units, logistics hubs, and a command post on Russian soil, according to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian defense units conducted a series of precision strikes on February 9–10, which aimed at degrading Russia’s drone warfare capabilities and support infrastructure. Among the most notable targets was a command post belonging to the “Rubikon” UAV center—considered one of the most advanced Russian drone formations.
