Satellite imagery published by the OSINT project Dnipro OSINT on May 25 appears to show damage to at least two fuel storage tanks at the Grushovaya oil depot near Novorossiysk following a reported Ukrainian drone strike on May 23. One of the reservoirs was reportedly destroyed, while part of the facility’s pipeline infrastructure also sustained damage.

The facility, located near the Black Sea coast at coordinates 44.74903, 37.87853, is part of one of the largest oil transshipment hubs in southern Russia and the Caucasus region. The depot operates together with the nearby Sheskharis marine terminal, forming a single oil transfer complex used for the storage and export of crude oil and petroleum products.

According to Dnipro OSINT, the Grushovaya facility has a total storage capacity estimated at between 1.2 and 1.25 million cubic meters and includes approximately 40 to 47 storage tanks. The complex is situated in mountainous terrain several kilometers from the shoreline of Tsemess Bay near Novorossiysk.

Footage published online after the attack showed a fire burning at the terminal overnight on May 23. Russian authorities did not immediately provide detailed information regarding the extent of the damage.

The strike follows a broader Ukrainian campaign targeting Russian fuel and energy infrastructure linked to military logistics and fuel supply chains.

Earlier, Ukrainian drones struck a freight train carrying propane tanks in Russia’s Kursk region, triggering a fire and forcing the evacuation of nearby residents after explosions were reported in the Lgov district.
