Zelenskyy and Danish Defense Minister Discuss Impending Drone Deal and New Military Support for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Danish Defense Minister Jeppe Bruus in Kyiv to discuss the finalization of a major Drone Deal and the contents of Denmark's upcoming 30th military aid package.
The meeting marks Bruus’s first official visit to Ukraine since taking office on June 3, 2026. Both leaders emphasized the urgency of finalizing the drone agreement to strengthen defense capabilities amid Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to the Official website of the President of Ukraine on June 29.

During the talks, Zelenskyy highlighted the progress made on the defense partnership, noting that the agreement is nearly finalized.
"I know that our teams worked on it, and it is almost ready. I hope that in the near future we will have the opportunity to sign this document," the President stated.
Bruus reassured the Ukrainian leadership that the new Danish government maintains a firm policy of strong support for Ukraine and its citizens.
The defense leaders also focused on boosting European anti-ballistic capabilities. Zelenskyy thanked Bruus for Denmark's cooperation in this specific defense sector.

This dialogue follows recent discussions between Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Jeppe Bruus regarding the creation of a joint anti-ballistic system involving Ukraine and European partners.
These bilateral efforts align with broader European defense initiatives, such as the agreement signed between Ukrainian and German companies on June 18 in Brussels to collaborate on anti-ballistic system production.
At the latest Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Brussels, held in the Ramstein format, international partners pledged approximately $4 billion in military assistance.
According to Ukraine’s Defense Minister, the total includes a $1 billion package, which he described as one of the largest single commitments for this type of support since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Allies announced a preliminary $500 million package earmarked for long-range artillery systems capable of striking targets at distances of more than 30 kilometers.
