Zelenskyy Confirms Strike on Russian Oil Facility 500 Kilometers From Ukrainian Border

In a statement published on social media, Zelenskyy said the target was located approximately 500 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border and identified it as an oil-sector facility in southern Russia.
“It is entirely fair to bring the war back to where it came from. Russia could have ended its aggression long ago, but it chose to prolong and continue it,” Zelenskyy said.
Our new long-range sanctions – and this is 500 kilometers from our state border. We are rightfully bringing the war back to where it came from. Russia could have ended its aggression long ago, but instead chose to prolong and continue it. So another facility of Russia’s oil… pic.twitter.com/YrrTsLDMqP

According to Zelenskyy, the operation was carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU). He thanked the agency’s personnel and described the strike as part of Ukraine’s broader strategy of applying what he called “long-range sanctions” against Russian military and economic infrastructure.
“It is important that step by step we are implementing our plan of long-range sanctions—in response to everything Russia is doing against our country and our people,” Zelenskyy said.
The president added that Ukraine is using a combination of legal measures and long-range military capabilities to increase pressure on Russia.
“All types of our sanctions—legal and very practical long-range ones—are working to bring peace closer. Thank you for your precision,” he stated.

The facility identified by Ukrainian officials is located in Armavir, a city in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Ukrainian officials said the strike hit another asset belonging to Russia’s oil industry approximately 500 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.
Armavir is located in southern Russia and serves as an important transportation hub in the Krasnodar region. The reported strike adds to a growing number of Ukrainian operations targeting energy-related facilities deep inside Russian territory.
Earlier, authorities across Russia’s Urals Federal District simultaneously declared a missile threat alert for the first time since the start of the full-scale war. The warning extended to the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, more than 2,500 kilometers from Ukraine’s border, while several regional airports temporarily suspended operations.
