Ukraine’s military intelligence units continue to target Russian logistics routes linking temporarily occupied Crimea with South and East of Ukraine, striking military vehicles and supply infrastructure deep behind the front line.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (HUR) via Facebook on May 29.

According to a statement, operators from the unmanned systems units of HUR’s Active Operations Department are maintaining fire control over sections of the route connecting the occupied cities of Berdiansk, Melitopol, and Dzhankoi.

The agency released footage showing Russian fuel tankers, military trucks, and transport trailers destroyed in drone strikes.

Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov emphasized that, due to strikes by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, the so-called “land corridor” to Crimea, which Russia used to transport military equipment and supplies, has effectively ceased functioning.

“The highway from Chonhar through Melitopol and Berdiansk to Mariupol, which for years was used by thousands of people traveling to the Azov Sea and Crimea, has effectively stopped functioning today. The Russians built their so-called ‘land corridor’ for military logistics. But now every military vehicle on this route is a legitimate target for the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” Fedorov wrote on Telegram.

He added that Russian forces are no longer able to use the route effectively for the transfer of equipment and supplies.

Fedorov also said that the ongoing security situation has effectively ruled out a tourist season along the occupied Azov coast. In addition, he pointed to worsening conditions in energy and communal infrastructure in occupied territories.

“Due to a shortage of specialists who left the occupation, the Russians are unable to restore stable electricity and water supplies. Berdiansk, Melitopol, Enerhodar, Tokmak, and Molochansk are cities where people live with constant interruptions to electricity and water,” he said.

Just a day earlier, operators from Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have struck Russian heavy military equipment and disrupted critical logistics routes in the Donetsk region.

According to the Unmanned Systems Forces, precision attacks carried out by the Phoenix unit targeted several Russian artillery systems, transport vehicles, and specialized equipment used to move ammunition, tactical supplies, and personnel.

The branch stated that the strikes substantially reduced the operational and offensive capabilities of Russian forces in the area.
