According to the ministry, from June 20 the military enlistment office of the Oshmyany district has been summoning military-liable citizens to clarify and update their personal data. The verification process is taking place at a preliminary assembly point.
Officials said that enlistment officers are updating records and revising military registration documents. In total, around 2,000 residents of the Oshmyany district are expected to be covered by the procedure.
Initially, the mobilization exercises were announced on June 17, with officials stating that they were designed to test procedures for the mobilization of citizens and transport resources within the region. The regional military commissar was issued the corresponding directive.

The development comes as Russia is stepping up pressure on Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko to permit wider use of Belarusian territory for military operations against Ukraine, as well as for potential hybrid activities directed at NATO member states.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the Kremlin has been urging Lukashenko since early 2026 to expand Belarus’s involvement in Russia’s war effort, as Moscow looks for new ways to intensify pressure on Ukraine amid slowing progress on the eastern front.
Citing US and European officials, the newspaper reports that Moscow is seeking access to Belarusian territory for purposes including launching drones against Ukrainian targets, complicating Ukraine’s security posture along its northern border, and compelling Kyiv to divert military resources away from active front-line sectors in the east.

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a seven-day ultimatum to Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko demanding the removal of military equipment used by Russian forces to coordinate strikes near the Ukrainian border.
At a press conference in Kyiv, Zelenskyy warned that Ukraine would be prepared to take direct military action to disable the systems if Belarus does not comply within a week.
The equipment in question, deployed along the border areas of two Ukrainian regions, reportedly includes Belarusian and Russian signal repeaters installed on border infrastructure.
