Finnish President Warns Citizens to Prepare for Russian Hybrid Attacks and Drone Incidents

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has called on citizens to mentally prepare for potential sabotage attempts and unauthorized drone incursions.

Speaking in an interview with MTV, reported by Yle on September 17, the president pointed out that four drones have fallen on Finnish territory since the start of the year, emphasizing that the public should be ready for similar occurrences.

"The first type is kinetic warfare, which we currently see between Ukraine and Russia," Stubb said, describing the dynamic of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. "The second is hybrid warfare, which Russia is waging against Europe."

Despite the warning, the Finnish leader stressed that there is no reason to panic. He noted that the Finnish Defense Forces and government authorities have already tightened security measures to counter hybrid threats and unmanned aerial vehicles.

In the MTV interview, Stubb advised the public to remain calm, evaluate incoming news with a critical eye, and refrain from overreacting to every alarming report.
