Daily Update: Russia Loses 1040 Troops and Over 2200 Drones in One Day

Russian forces lost 1,040 personnel and a range of military equipment over the past day, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on the morning of April 9.

Total Russian combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, are estimated to have reached approximately 1,307,540 personnel, including the latest daily losses.

Over the same period, Russia has lost 11,847 tanks and 24,370 armored combat vehicles, along with 39,689 artillery systems and 1,724 multiple launch rocket systems.

Air defense losses remain at 1,341 systems, while aircraft and helicopter losses stand at 435 and 350, respectively. The number of operational-tactical UAVs destroyed has risen to 227,539, including 2,238 reported in the past day alone.

In addition, Russia has lost 4,517 cruise missiles, 33 warships and boats, and two submarines since the beginning of the invasion. Losses in vehicles and fuel tankers have reached 88,332, while special equipment losses stand at 4,119.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Defense Forces engaged Russian troops in 164 combat clashes across the front line.

Earlier, a Russian officer commanding a drone unit died in Russia’s Kursk region under unclear circumstances.

Lt. Vyacheslav Parkhatskikh, who led a UAV company within the 810th Naval Infantry Brigade, was reportedly killed on March 25.
