Macron, Merz, Starmer, and Tusk Arrive in Kyiv in Unprecedented Allied Visit

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Kyiv on May 10 for a high-level meeting of the so-called “coalition of the willing .”
They were welcomed on the platform of Kyiv’s central railway station by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak.
This marks Chancellor Merz’s first visit to Ukraine, and it is the first time all four leaders have arrived in Kyiv together.

“The coalition of the resolute is welcome in Kyiv… There’s much work to be done and many issues to discuss. This war must be brought to an end with a just peace. Moscow must be forced into a ceasefire,” Yermak wrote on his official Telegram channel.
On May 10, Merz emphasized that his country, along with UK, France and Poland, will stand united with Kyiv against Russia’s war.
“We, the Leaders of France, Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom, will stand together in Kyiv in solidarity with Ukraine in the face of Russia’s ongoing barbaric and illegal invasion,” Merz wrote.

On April 30, Prime Minister Kristjan Michal announced that Estonia is prepared to contribute a company-sized unit to international peace-support efforts in Ukraine as part of the “coalition of the willing.”
