Polish authorities have shortened reporting times for reservists of the Territorial Defense Forces (WOT) following violations of the country’s airspace by Russian drones and the activation of ground search-and-rescue teams, WOT said in an X post on September 10.

In Podlaskie, Mazowieckie, Lublin, and Podkarpackie regions, reservists must report within six hours.

In Pomeranian, Warmian-Masurian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź, Świętokrzyskie, and Lesser Poland, the reporting window is 12 hours.

Other regions are not expected to face urgent call-ups.

Officials urged citizens to remain calm, share only verified information from military or state sources, and report any debris to the police rather than approaching it.

EU Foreign Policy chief Kaja Kallas and US lawmakers were previously warning of escalation after Russia’s overnight drone barrage spilled into NATO territory, forcing Poland to defend its skies against Iranian-made Shahed drones for the first time, with Kallas calling the violations deliberate.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Kyiv is prepared to assist Poland in building a warning and protection system against Russian attacks, stressing the need for a pan-European approach to air defense.
