Usyk Defeats Dubois by Knockout, Becomes Undisputed Heavyweight Champion for Second Time

Oleksandr Usyk secured a fifth-round knockout victory over Daniel Dubois on July 20, 2025, at Wembley Stadium in London.
The win allowed Usyk to retain his WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC heavyweight titles and reclaim the vacant IBF belt, making him the undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time in his career.
The fight headlined a sold-out event and marked the second meeting between the two fighters. Their first bout in 2023 ended in a ninth-round stoppage, with controversy surrounding a body shot that was ruled a low blow.

In the opening rounds, both fighters exchanged jabs and combinations. Usyk landed clean left hands in the final seconds of round one. In round two, Dubois connected with a straight punch, but Usyk responded with a series to the body and finished the round with a strong left to the head.
Round three saw Dubois land several accurate punches before Usyk regained control with multiple combinations. The fourth round was more measured, with both fighters waiting for openings.
In round five, Usyk dropped Dubois with a flurry of punches to the head. After Dubois got back to his feet, Usyk delivered a second combination to the head and body, resulting in a knockout. The referee stopped the fight after Dubois failed to respond to the count.

Usyk remains undefeated with a professional record of 24–0, including 14 wins by knockout. Dubois now holds a record of 22–3, with 21 knockouts.
Usyk is the first boxer in the four-belt era to achieve undisputed champion status in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions.
Earlier, on December 21–22, 2024, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by unanimous decision in a historic rematch at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
All three judges scored the bout 116–112 in Usyk’s favor, making him the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era. The fight followed Usyk’s initial victory over Fury earlier that year, solidifying his dominance across two weight classes.
