Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv in an unannounced visit, marking his second trip to Ukraine in recent months and underscoring continued international attention on the war, according to journalist Chris Ship on April 23.

The Duke of Sussex said he was glad to be back in the country. “Good to be back in Ukraine,” he remarked during the visit.

According to reports, the visit is intended to highlight the ongoing challenges faced by Ukrainians and to support those working under what he described as extremely difficult conditions. The prince’s return also serves as a reminder of Ukraine’s resilience and the broader importance of maintaining global awareness of the war.

Prince Harry, the younger son of King Charles III, traveled to Kyiv by train and is expected to speak at a public event during his visit. He is scheduled to take part in the Kyiv Security Forum, where he will join a panel discussion featuring Ukrainian veterans.

In comments to The Sun, the duke emphasized Ukraine’s role in defending Europe. “It’s good to be back in Ukraine – a country that is bravely and successfully defending Europe’s eastern flank. It’s important that we don’t forget the significance of this,” he said.

He was welcomed in Kyiv by Ramina Shul, executive director of the Open Ukraine Foundation and an organizer of the forum.

During the event, Prince Harry is expected to deliver a speech addressing the war and condemning Russia’s actions, reportedly describing them as “systematic and deliberate” war crimes.

His visit comes as Ukraine continues to seek sustained international support, with high-profile appearances by global figures playing a role in keeping the Russian war against Ukraine in focus for Western audiences.

Earlier, Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf made an unannounced visit to Ukraine on April 17, marking his first trip to the country in 18 years and the first by the monarch since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022.
