Russian Drone Attack on Odesa Damages Residential Building, Triggers Multiple Fires

Russian forces attacked Odesa with strike drones late on February 12, damaging civilian infrastructure and housing, according to Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa city military administration, on Telegram on February 12.
Lysak reported a drone hit a multi-story apartment building, damaging an upper-floor apartment without causing a fire, while a recreational facility saw a blaze in outbuildings and another part of the city suffered a fire at a commercial site.

He said information on possible casualties was being clarified and that the air raid alert remained in effect at the time of the update.

Odesa, a key Ukrainian port, has been under frequent Russian drone and missile attacks during the war, with various media and officials reporting on February 9 that a “massive” drone strike killed one person and damaged residential infrastructure, and on January 28 that drone strikes damaged port infrastructure and killed two people in the wider region.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces hit the Polish consulate in Odesa during an overnight bombardment, damaging the building but causing no injuries to diplomatic staff.
