Russian Drone Strike Hits Ambulance in Ukraine’s Chernihiv Region, Injuring Two Paramedics

A Russian drone struck an ambulance in Ukraine’s Semenivka, Chernihiv region, on January 11 as medical workers were returning from an emergency call, leaving two paramedics injured and hospitalized.
The attack was reported by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Viacheslav Chaus on January 12.

According to Chaus, Russian forces targeted the ambulance on January 11 in the town of Semenivka. Two medical workers, aged 47 and 54, sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in hospital. The ambulance they were traveling in was damaged as a result of the strike.
During the same attack, the drone also hit a local music school. Chaus said the strike was carried out using a Molniya-type unmanned aerial vehicle.
Additionally, the Russian shelling damaged a critical energy infrastructure facility in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district of Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, leading to electricity outages in several local communities, according to the regional power utility Chernihivoblenergo.

The company said the strike damaged energy equipment, cutting off power to multiple settlements.
Earlier, Russian forces targeted an ambulance crew in Kherson with a drone strike on January 1, damaging the vehicle and wounding its driver.
According to officials, the emergency medical team was traveling around 10:00 p.m. to provide assistance to wounded civilians when the ambulance came under attack. The driver, a 70-year-old man, sustained blast injuries, a closed head injury, and a concussion.
