Today, Russian forces targeted a service vehicle used by workers installing anti-drone netting between the cities of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

The incident occurred as teams attempted to set up defensive barriers in the Donetsk region, according to Military member Stanislav "Osman" Buniatov on April 8.

Efforts to install anti-drone nets in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk remain limited, leaving parts of the streets exposed and increasing the potential danger to residents. Without comprehensive protective measures, these areas remain vulnerable to Russian FPV drone strikes.

Meanwhile, the city of Druzhkivka has also begun implementing protective measures by installing anti-drone netting across various locations. While the military notes that defenses are holding, the constant shelling continues to threaten the civilian areas.

In early April 2026, Russian forces intensified their pressure on the city by dropping aerial bombs on residential homes. Druzhkivka has faced prolonged and systematic fire, leading to the destruction of private buildings.

Earlier, a stalled Russian offensive allowed Ukrainian forces additional time to strengthen and expand their defensive fortifications across several frontline areas.

OSINT researcher Clément Molin noted that these new defenses showed a clear improvement in quality, transitioning from simple linear formations to isolated defensive sectors.

Between the primary lines, smaller perpendicular barriers were added to create enclosed squares divided by trenches and barbed wire. This updated strategy focused on continuous defensive lines rather than relying solely on cities as strongholds, aiming to slow enemy advances and channel them into zones exposed to drone and artillery strikes.
