Airports in Rzeszów and Lublin, located in eastern Poland, temporarily halted operations due to a Russian airstrike targeting Ukraine’s western regions.

This was reported by Polskie Radio on November 19.

According to the broadcaster, the Polish Air Navigation Agency announced on the morning of November 19 that the airports, which are close to the Ukrainian border, suspended their services "to allow military aviation operations."

By around 7:30 AM, both airports resumed regular flight operations, including arrivals and departures.

In the early hours of November 19, Poland activated its allied air forces following Russian airstrikes targeting western Ukraine. The Polish military confirmed that fighter jets and early-warning radar aircraft were deployed to safeguard its airspace.

The Polish Armed Forces Operational Command explained that the deployment was in response to Russian bombings on Ukrainian infrastructure.

"In response to Russia's attacks on targets within Ukraine, both Polish and allied aviation forces are now active in our airspace. Fighter jets and an early-warning radar aircraft have been mobilized," the Polish military confirmed.

Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced that the recent assault on Poland's railway system forces the country to evaluate its true allies and identify its enemies.
