Secretive FP-5 Flamingo Cruise Missile, FP-1/2 Drones Surfaces in First Production Video

The first publicly seen footage from Fire Point production line and live testing of the FP-1 and FP-2 strike drones, as well as its long-range Flamingo cruise missile (FP-5), marking one of the most detailed looks to date into Ukraine’s rapidly expanding domestic weapons industry, was released by the company on December 4.
The footage—which includes both production line visuals and field testing sequences—provides the most tangible confirmation so far of Ukraine’s accelerated shift toward scalable, locally manufactured long-range and frontline strike systems as the war enters another year.

The FP-2 has become a preferred system for units operating in newly liberated areas and advanced positions, where payload, deployment speed, and short-range strike flexibility are essential, according to servicemembers from special operations units who spoke during the briefing.
They noted the FP-2 was involved in multiple confirmed strikes carried out in 2025, including engagements requiring short flight profiles and heavier warheads to hit fortified Russian positions, ammunition depots, and mobile logistics targets.

Technical specifications displayed by Fire Point show that the FP-2 features a 6-meter wingspan, a maximum takeoff weight of 215 kg, cruise speeds of 140–180 km/h, a top speed of 205 km/h, and can be launched in 18 minutes from either a jet-assisted start or a truck platform.
The system carries a 105 kg payload and is optimized for frontline missions at ranges of up to 200 km, striking both static and moving targets.

Ukrainian officers emphasized that FP-2 fills an operational space between the deep-strike FP-1 platform, which can reach 1,400 km with a smaller warhead, and larger strike drones that face greater vulnerability to electronic warfare.
Operators noted improvements in responsiveness, low-altitude stability, and jamming resistance have driven growing adoption of FP-2 in 2025 missions, citing continuous updates informed by frontline feedback.

The FP-1, marketed as a deep-strike solution, carries up to 60 kg and remains tailored for long-range operations and static target engagements, with flight times of up to 7 hours, according to the company data shown at the briefing.
Fire Point also revealed new details about the Flamingo cruise missile (FP-5), describing it as a long-range strike capability engineered to hit targets at distances of up to 3,000 kilometres.

The missile carries a warhead weighing roughly one metric ton and cruises between 850 and 950 km/h. Fire Point says Flamingo uses combined inertial and satellite guidance and can be made launch-ready within 20 to 40 minutes, depending on configuration.
Earlier, Denmark became the first NATO member to formally authorize Ukraine to establish defense manufacturing on its territory, a move that signals a new phase in Europe’s support for Kyiv.
The new facility will be built in the southern town of Vojens, where the Ukrainian company Fire Point is preparing to open a site dedicated to producing solid rocket fuel.
