Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, during which the two leaders discussed establishing a Ukrainian-Polish task force to address and prevent Russian-led subversive activities, Zelenskyy wrote in a Telegram post on November 19.

Tusk expressed condolences over the recent Russian drone and missile attacks in Ukraine, which resulted in fatalities in Ternopil and dozens of injuries in other regions. Zelenskyy thanked Tusk for Poland’s solidarity, noting that urgent recovery efforts are underway in the affected areas.

Tusk also shared information from Polish law enforcement and intelligence regarding recent sabotage activities on Polish railways, which involved Telegram as a platform for organizing attacks and launching disinformation campaigns against Ukraine.

Zelenskyy confirmed that such subversive actions are a daily occurrence in Ukraine, including on its railway system, and assured that appropriate measures have been implemented by Ukrzaliznytsia to counter these activities.

Both leaders agreed that the facts point to Russian involvement and reaffirmed Ukraine’s readiness to collaborate with Poland to prevent future attacks. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Poland’s ongoing support and emphasized the importance of joint efforts to protect lives and counter all threats.

“Ukraine is ready to cooperate with Poland at various levels and share all information. We have agreed to establish a Ukrainian-Polish group that will work to prevent similar situations from Russia in the future,” Zelenskyy stated.

Previously, it was reported that Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated in the Sejm that the attack on Poland’s railway network compels the country to assess who its allies are and who its adversaries are.

He emphasized that the true enemies of Poland are not EU officials, Ukrainians, or the Polish government, but those who sent saboteurs into the country, according to Onet.

During the press conference, Sikorski confirmed that he had previously warned Russia that if it continued its hostile actions against Poland, the diplomatic and consular presence of Russia in Poland would be further reduced.
