Ukraine Approves Spextr Combat Robots for High-Risk Frontline Missions

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has officially codified and approved the “Spextr” ground robotic system for use in the Armed Forces. This was reported by the press service of the Defense Ministry on February 13.
Designed for a wide range of battlefield tasks, the Spextr unmanned platform can navigate rough terrain and difficult landscapes. According to the Defense Ministry, these remotely operated robots enhance safety and reduce risks for soldiers in high-threat environments.
Depending on its configuration and mounted equipment, the Spextr can be used for reconnaissance, transporting ammunition and supplies, or—when outfitted with specialized weaponry—engaging enemy forces.
The system’s compact design allows for easy transport in a van or pickup truck, while its silent electric motor ensures stealth operations. Its battery provides several hours of continuous use.
Additionally, the Defense Ministry recently approved the “Gimli” family of unmanned ground vehicles for deployment.
Previously, it was reported that The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has initiated the creation of a testing ground for evaluating new demining technologies, including those powered by artificial intelligence.
