Ukrainian military personnel successfully neutralized several drones during a joint defense demonstration in Danish airspace, according to General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the event, Ukrainian specialists in counter-UAV warfare launched a “Sting” drone, which accurately intercepted and destroyed a Danish “Banshee” drone. The exercise took place as part of an exchange of battlefield experience between Ukrainian and Danish forces.
Representatives from multiple European countries were present at the demonstration to observe Ukraine’s drone-defense capabilities in real time.
According to the General Staff, the successful interception was recorded on video, and Ukrainian drone operators received numerous inquiries from foreign counterparts afterward.
The operation coincided with the start of joint military drills in Denmark, codenamed “Wings of Defense,” where Ukrainian and Danish forces are training to counter aerial threats, particularly strike drones. The initiative is part of a broader cooperation effort to enhance NATO and European defenses against unmanned aerial systems.

The exercise followed several reports in late September of unidentified drones flying near strategic sites across Denmark. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen discussed these incidents last week, amid concerns over possible Russian reconnaissance activity in the Baltic region.
In late September, Danish authorities also detected a Russian naval vessel operating near national waters during the same period when the unidentified drones were observed, adding to regional security tensions.
The Ukrainian General Staff stated that its mission in Denmark aims to strengthen international collaboration in defending against drone attacks—an area in which Ukraine has gained extensive experience throughout the ongoing war.
Earlier, Reuters reported on September 29 that France, Germany, and Sweden deployed military personnel and anti-drone systems to Denmark after a series of drone incursions led to temporary airport closures.
The mission—supported by Norway’s police—includes France’s Fennec helicopter unit and specialized German and Swedish teams equipped to detect and neutralize aerial threats ahead of the upcoming European summits in Copenhagen.
