Ukraine Logs More Than 10,700 Russian Violations During Easter Truce

Ukraine’s General Staff reported more than 10,700 violations by Russian forces during the Easter ceasefire, casting doubt on the effectiveness of the temporary truce.
According to the statement, a total of 10,721 breaches were recorded between 16:00 on April 11 and the end of April 12, when the ceasefire was in effect.

While no missile strikes, air raids, or attacks involving Shahed- or Gerbera-type drones were reported during this period, Russian forces continued extensive combat activity on the ground.
The General Staff said Ukrainian positions came under 1,567 artillery strikes, while Russian troops carried out 119 assault operations.
In addition, Russian forces launched 9,035 strike drone attacks. Of these, 2,205 involved systems such as Italmas, Lancet, and Molniya drones, while 6,830 were carried out using FPV drones.

These figures were echoed by earlier reports from Ukrainian officials, indicating that violations continued throughout the ceasefire period. Over a 24-hour span, Russian forces breached the truce more than 2,200 times, including strikes targeting medics in the Sumy region and a residential building in Druzhkivka, according to statements released on April 12.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 120 combat engagements took place during this time. By 7 a.m. on April 12, Ukrainian forces had documented 2,299 ceasefire violations, including 28 assault actions and 479 attacks, as well as extensive drone activity. This included 747 strikes involving Lancet and Molniya loitering munitions and 1,045 FPV drone attacks.

Despite the formal ceasefire, Russian forces also carried out 58 airstrikes over the same period, deploying 184 guided aerial bombs and launching 8,458 suicide drones. In total, 2,947 attacks were recorded against Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 123 strikes using multiple launch rocket systems. Airstrikes were reported across the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
At the same time, Ukrainian military officials also reported ongoing Russian losses during the period of the declared ceasefire. According to the General Staff on April 13, Russian forces sustained 960 casualties, including both killed and wounded, over the previous 24 hours.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, Russia’s total estimated personnel losses have reached around 1,312,140. Ukrainian forces have continued to inflict damage on Russian equipment, with 11,861 tanks destroyed in total, including two in the past day, along with 24,386 armored combat vehicles, two of which were eliminated during the same period.
Artillery losses have also mounted, reaching 39,915 systems destroyed overall, including 44 in the last 24 hours. Russian forces have additionally lost 1,728 multiple launch rocket systems and 1,346 air defense systems, each increasing by one over the reporting period.
