In the early hours of February 7, Ukrainian drones struck a fuel component manufacturing facility in Redkino, Tver region of Russia, disrupting production of critical materials used in Russia’s Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles.

According to Ukrinform, the strike was carried out by the Alpha Group of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU).

The targeted site, identified as a research plant under international sanctions, reportedly produced “Decylin-M”—a specialized fuel component used in the propulsion systems of Russia’s strategic cruise missiles—as well as additives for diesel fuel and aviation kerosene.

A fire broke out following the impact, with thick black smoke seen rising above the facility. Satellite fire-detection data from NASA’s FIRMS platform confirmed an active blaze at the location shortly after the strike.

The Redkino plant is under sanctions from the United States, the United Kingdom, and several other countries due to its role in supporting Russia’s military-industrial complex. Local Russian authorities acknowledged an attack had taken place but did not publicly name the facility or confirm the extent of the damage.

An unnamed SBU official told Ukrinform that “even a temporary halt in the plant’s operations complicates missile fuel production and reduces the enemy’s ability to sustain the pace of attacks on our cities.”

The strike occurred on the same day Russia launched a coordinated missile and drone barrage targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Among the weapons used were at least 21 Kh-101 cruise missiles—highlighting the relevance of the Redkino facility in Russia’s ongoing campaign against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.

Earlier, Ukraine’s military intelligence reported a series of coordinated drone strikes that destroyed key elements of Russia’s short‑range air defense and radar network along the frontline.

According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the attacks eliminated a Pantsir‑S1 system, two Tor surface‑to‑air missile systems, and several surveillance radars, reducing Russia’s ability to detect and intercept Ukrainian drones and aircraft.
