Doctors at Okhmatdyt recently saved a nine-month-old girl from Moldova, according to the official Facebook page of the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital on February 20.
We bring you stories from the ground. Your support keeps our team in the field.
The infant, named Eva, originally traveled to Ukraine to receive treatment for a heart pathology. However, during the medical intervention, she suffered an intracranial hemorrhage.

The child's condition quickly became critical. She experienced constant seizures and episodes where she stopped breathing, forcing neurosurgeons at Okhmatdyt to begin a battle for her life.
At the time of her admission to the hospital, the infant required a ventilator to breathe and stayed in the intensive care unit for nearly three weeks. During this period, doctors worked to stabilize her and prepare her for necessary surgeries.

The treatment process involved approximately 40 specialists from various medical fields.
The essential materials required for the operations were purchased with the support of the charitable organization “Mom and Baby.”

The hospital stated that "this case became an example of a full cycle of highly specialized care at an international level: a child from abroad received comprehensive treatment in Ukraine even during a very difficult time for the country".

After spending a month and a half receiving medical care, Eva returned home to Moldova. She is currently continuing her recovery process.
Earlier, a team of international and Ukrainian specialists gathered in Ivano-Frankivsk for the sixth "Face the Future" mission to provide reconstructive care for those injured during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Before treating over 30 patients with severe face and neck injuries, the staff honored the fallen with a minute of silence. Dr. Peter Adamson, the foundation's founder, emphasized that the mission aimed to provide the best possible care for Ukrainian soldiers protecting shared values.
