Russia’s Bryansk region came under attack overnight, with reports of a drone strike targeting the Novozbykov oil pumping station, a key part of the Druzhba pipeline that supplies crude to Belarus and Europe, Russian Telegram channel Mash reported on January 30.

OSINT analyst Rocket Man confirmed that a fire broke out in the area where the pumping station is located. Transneft, the Russian state-owned company responsible for oil transportation, operates the facility.

The Novozbykov pumping station, situated near the village of Mamay, is the last major checkpoint on the Druzhba pipeline before oil crosses into Belarus. The pipeline carries over 33 million tons of crude annually, with much of it destined for European markets.

The Crimean Wind monitoring group, citing satellite imagery, reported four major fires across the Bryansk region following the attack:

  • Near the village of Siniy Kolodets, where an unidentified facility caught fire.

  • At the Novozbykov oil pumping station.

  • At a brick factory in the area.

  • At the 8N Line Pumping and Dispatch Station (LPDS), another key point along the Druzhba pipeline.

Both PPS Novozbykov and LPDS 8N are crucial in ensuring oil flows to Belarusian refineries and transits to Europe. If confirmed, damage to these facilities could disrupt crude deliveries through one of Russia’s most vital energy arteries.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed shooting down two drones overnight in the Bryansk region.

Earlier, a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a Lukoil oil depot in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, causing significant damage and triggering a large fire.
