Ukrainian Drones Target Vtorovo Fuel Station, Disrupting Key Pipelines and Depots

Ukraine’s long-range drone, “Lyutyi,” struck the Vtorovo pumping station, a key facility for fuel supply to central Russia, on September 12. The details of the attack were analyzed by geoint researchers from the CyberBorshno project, as reported by Militarnyi.
The drone targeted infrastructure at the oil pumping station in the Vladimir region, which is a crucial point in the Verkhnevolzhsknefteproduct pipeline system. The strike hit the technological overpass, where the pipeline’s pipes and various signal and power cables are mounted.
The first attack on a Russian energy facility took place a week earlier, on September 7, when drones from the 14th UAV regiment hit fuel tanks at the Vtorovo pumping station. Researchers from Dnipro OSINT noted the damage to two tanks containing operational fuel reserves, used to maintain stable pressure in the pipeline system.

CyberBorshno analysts highlight that any disruptions at the station directly impact fuel supply to central Russia. It is a key node for the stable operation of the Ryazan refinery and fuel delivery to Moscow and aviation hubs.
In addition to this attack, Ukrainian drones also targeted a Russian Lukoil oil depot in the village of Kardimovo, Smolensk region, on the night of September 12. At least two hits were recorded, leading to a massive fire, which was observed by local residents.

Last spring, this oil depot was nearly destroyed by Ukrainian drones—at that time, only two of the 16 oil tanks survived, with the others completely burned during a powerful blaze.
Earlier, drones struck Russia’s largest oil export terminal on the Baltic Sea overnight, sparking fires on a vessel and at a pumping station in the port of Primorsk in the Leningrad region, according to regional governor Alexander Drozdenko on September 12.
