Ukrainian Forces Knock Out $100M Russian Radar and Drone Hubs Across Temporarily Occupied Regions

Ukraine’s Defense Forces have struck a Russian radar system and multiple drone command posts in temporarily occupied territories, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on January 29.
According to the General Staff, as part of efforts to degrade Russia’s air defense capabilities, Ukrainian forces hit a 1L119 “Nebo-SVU” radar station near the temporarily occupied settlement of Lymarivka in the Luhansk region. The estimated cost of such a radar system is around $100 million.

Ukrainian strikes also targeted several Russian drone command-and-control points. Hits were recorded near the temporarily occupied settlements of Solodke, Rivnopillia, and Novohryhorivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as another site near Pidstepne in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region.
In addition, Ukrainian forces struck an ammunition depot near the temporarily occupied town of Vasylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, aiming to undermine the offensive potential of Russian troops.
The General Staff said impacts have been confirmed, while the scale of Russian losses is still being assessed.
In a separate operation, Ukrainian forces also eliminated a Russian electronic warfare asset on the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi axis, according to the State Border Guard Service.

The service said operators from its STRIX unmanned aerial systems unit of the 4th Border Detachment worked in coordination with the STAR unmanned systems battalion of the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Acting as part of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, the units continue to systematically weaken Russian combat capabilities in the area.
After aerial reconnaissance confirmed the target’s location, FPV drone crews carried out precision strikes on a Russian Tirada-2 electronic warfare system, which is used to disrupt and disable satellite communications. The system was destroyed as a result of the attack.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) said its Alpha special operations unit carried out a series of long-range drone attacks on five Russian military airfields in 2025, destroying 15 aircraft in the process.
According to the SBU’s statement, the strikes inflicted more than $1 billion in damage on Russia’s military infrastructure.
