Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces carried out a strike against a train carrying fuel and lubricants at the loading rack of the “Hvardiiske” oil depot in temporarily occupied Crimea, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on January 9.

The operation was aimed at disrupting the fuel supply system supporting units of the Russian occupation forces’ “Dnipro” grouping.

The strike was executed by personnel of the Special Operations Forces using domestically produced FP-2 attack drones.

In addition, as part of efforts to reduce Russian combat capabilities on the Orikhiv axis, the Special Operations Forces also struck the location of a Russian repair unit near the settlement of Hirne in Donetsk region. The results of the strikes are currently being clarified.

The General Staff emphasized that Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to systematically implement measures to degrade the military-economic potential and offensive capabilities of the Russian occupation forces.

Earlier, Ukraine’s General Staff said Ukrainian forces struck the “Oskolneftesnab” oil depot in Russia’s Belgorod region and hit a warehouse used by Russian troops, with a large fire recorded at the fuel facility, according to the Ukrainian General Staff on January 7.
