US Venture Firm Makes First-Ever Direct Investment in Ukrainian Defense Tech

Ukrainian robotics manufacturer Tencore has secured $3.74 million in funding from the American venture capital firm MITS Capital on July 11.
This marks the first direct investment by a US venture fund in a Ukrainian defense tech company, made through a Ukrainian legal entity in Dіia.City.
Tencore plans to use the funds to scale its R&D efforts and increase production capacity. The company, one of the leading developers of unmanned robotic platforms (NRK) in Ukraine, is best known for its robotized platform, TerMIT.
The platform has been tested on the frontlines, is NATO-standard certified, and is actively used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. To date, Tencore has manufactured over 800 TerMIT units, with plans to ramp up production to 2,000 by the end of 2025.

Diia.City, a Ukrainian innovation hub, introduced international venture investment instruments, making it easier and safer to invest in Ukrainian companies, similar to the US and EU standards. It provides technological businesses and startups in Ukraine with the opportunity to attract investment directly within the country.
“We congratulate the Tencore team on this significant achievement. We continue to create the best conditions for attracting investment into Ukrainian companies,” stated a representative of the Ukrainian government initiative.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine plans to deploy 15,000 combat robots to the frontline in 2025.
