Russia has unleashed hundreds of Iskander-M ballistic missiles on Ukraine, less than half have been intercepted by air defense systems. Now, Ukrainian analysts at the Economic Security Council (ESCU) warn that Russia is still quietly importing the carbon fiber crucial to building them, sourced from China and the EU, with little hindrance.

One of Russia’s most destructive weapons—the Iskander-M ballistic missile—relies not just on imported parts but also on foreign raw materials used in its fuel. Targeted sanctions on sodium perchlorate (a component of ammonium perchlorate) could cripple the production of the Russian missile that kills civilians and threatens Europe’s security.

On the night of April 24, the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, was hit by a significant assault from Russian forces, who launched Kalibr missiles and Shahed drones, according to UNITED24 Media journalists on the ground.
