“Easy-to-Use, Interactive, Adaptive”: Palantir CEO Alex Karp on Ukraine’s Battlefield Targeting Tech

Ukraine has developed one of the world’s most advanced and adaptive battlefield targeting systems during the Russian war of aggression, according to Alex Karp, who said parts of the system were built with support from Palantir Technologies but largely shaped by Ukrainian engineers and soldiers themselves.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with UNITED24 Media, Karp said he had to be “very careful” discussing the exact role Palantir plays in Ukraine’s military operations, but acknowledged the company has a “very large role in a lot of the targeting acquisition” used by Ukrainian forces.

“The Ukrainians who are involved have built among the most important, easy-to-use, interactive, and adaptive targeting systems in the world,” Karp said.
“Part of that system is us, but a large part was built by them.”
Karp said the war demonstrated how small teams of highly motivated technical specialists can radically outperform expectations, even against a much larger military power.
“You can go from being a country that everyone believed was going to lose to a country that believes it’s going to win in four years,” he said, comparing Ukraine’s defense-tech ecosystem to Russia’s massive military spending.
The billionaire tech executive also described Ukraine as one of the few places where Palantir is openly embraced despite criticism the company often faces in the West over its deep involvement in military and intelligence work.
“At Palantir, we support war fighters and heroes,” Karp said. “I like being in a place where people like us.”

Karp added that Palantir employees working in Ukraine had built close ties with Ukrainian military units and frontline personnel over the past four years.
“We met some of the most interesting people I’ve ever met… people risking their lives,” he said.
Founded in 2003, Palantir became one of the most influential defense software companies in the world through platforms like Gotham, Foundry, and its Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP), which integrates AI tools into military and commercial operations. Under Karp’s leadership, the company has expanded its work with US intelligence agencies, NATO partners, and Western militaries while becoming increasingly involved in AI-driven battlefield systems.
Earlier, reports emerged that Ukraine planned to deploy a new generation of domestically produced, artificial intelligence-powered air-defense interceptors and had signed an agreement with US defense software company Palantir to build an advanced data platform aimed at predicting and defeating Russian missile and drone attacks.
