The photo was shared on June 18 by Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who showed Pistorius images of what he described as “Moscow morning” during a Ramstein-format meeting in Brussels, Belgium.

“Showing German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius Moscow morning,” Fedorov wrote on Threads.

In the photo, Pistorius appears to smile while looking closely at Fedorov’s phone.

Ukrainian users immediately picked up on the German minister’s expression, joking that his face needed little explanation.

“A facial expression worth a thousand words,” one user wrote.

“I see they like it. And we really like it too,” another commented.

“They should have used a tablet, it’s hard to see properly there,” another joked.

The images shown to Pistorius followed a strike on the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district, one of the largest fuel-processing facilities serving the Russian capital.

The refinery has a processing capacity of up to 11 million tons of oil per year and supplies a significant share of Moscow’s gasoline, diesel fuel, and aviation fuel demand.

After the strike, residents in several Moscow districts reported a black, oily substance covering cars and streets.

Russian air defense forces claimed they intercepted and destroyed 992 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones during the attack.

In its daily briefing on what Moscow calls the “special military operation,” Russia’s defense ministry also claimed to have downed four long-range Flamingo cruise missiles, three MLRS projectiles, and 10 guided aerial bombs.

At the moment of publication, Moscow came under drone attack for the third time in a week. Russian officials already stated that 30 drones were downed on the approach to the city.
