Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko responded to a warning from Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, who recently stated that Ukrainian forces had identified 500 potential targets in Belarus in the event of hostile actions launched from Belarusian territory.

According to remarks published on May 31 by the Telegram channel Pul Pervogo, which covers Lukashenko’s activities, the Belarusian leader dismissed Brovdi’s warning and claimed Belarus had its own target prepared in response.

“They may have identified 500 targets—thank you, because we have 500 targets for them. We have one very serious target, with precise coordinates, and it is not far from Belarus,” Lukashenko said while answering a question from a Russian journalist.

The comments came after Brovdi warned Belarus against possible provocations and stated that Ukrainian forces already had “the first 500 targets” identified on Belarusian territory. The commander’s remarks followed renewed accusations from Minsk regarding alleged Ukrainian drone activity near the border.

Lukashenko also rejected Ukrainian assessments of a potential threat from Belarus, arguing that Ukrainian military personnel do not want a conflict with Belarus because it would create an additional front stretching roughly 1,000 kilometers.

He also attributed the statement about 500 targets to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, although the warning was made by Brovdi.

The exchange comes amid continued Ukrainian concerns about military activity in Belarus. In April, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Belarus was expanding road infrastructure near the Ukrainian border and preparing artillery positions. In early May, he also reported what he described as “specific activity” by Belarusian forces near the frontier.
