Putin Has “Said Everything”: Kremlin Responds to Zelenskyy’s G7 Outreach

Moscow has issued its first response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s proposal to meet Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G7 summit currently taking place in France.
According to RBC-Ukraine on June 16, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on whether any official invitation had been sent through diplomatic channels for such a meeting.

“Of course, there was none. And as you know, there are no official channels between Moscow and Kyiv,” he said.
Peskov also stated that Putin has already “said everything” and “proposed everything” to Zelenskyy on multiple occasions.
“If Zelenskyy is ready to speak responsibly and seriously about what the so-called ‘Kyiv regime’ is well aware of, then he can always come to Moscow, where he will be received,” the Kremlin said.

Ukraine previously submitted a proposal to Russia suggesting a direct meeting between the two heads of state at the upcoming G7 summit to discuss potential steps toward peace.
According to the report, the initiative was conveyed to the Kremlin through several channels, including intermediaries, diplomatic contacts, and intelligence networks. The plan envisaged face-to-face talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the presence of G7 leaders, including US President Donald Trump.
Russia did not issue a clear diplomatic response to the proposal. Instead, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov indicated that the Ukrainian leadership should travel to Moscow for any such negotiations.

These diplomatic efforts came after an earlier phone call between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who have been serving as intermediaries between Kyiv and Moscow.
During the conversation, the sides discussed strategic outlooks ahead of the G7 summit and assessed intelligence regarding Russia’s intentions.
