Russia Continues Strikes on Kyiv Gas Stations, Hitting Two in Latest Attack

Russian forces launched another drone attack on Kyiv on the morning of September 23, striking two gas stations in different districts of the Ukrainian capital and injuring at least three people, as fuel facilities in the city continue to come under Russian attacks, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

In the Holosiivskyi district, a Russian drone was initially reported to have struck a gas station. Local media later identified the facility as an Ukrnafta gas station.

Klitschko later said a drone had fallen on a four-story business center in the district, prompting emergency services to respond to the scene.

In Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, another strike hit transport infrastructure. Preliminary reports indicated that the attack caused a fire on the roof of a gas station.

At the same time, local Telegram channels reported that a second gas station, operated by UPG on Kharkivske Highway, was also struck and completely destroyed.

At least three people were injured during the attack on Kyiv and hospitalized, Klitschko said. Two of them were reported to be in serious condition. Emergency services were dispatched to the affected sites.

The September 23 attack follows repeated Russian strikes on fuel infrastructure across the Ukrainian capital. On September 15, Russian drones also hit two gas stations in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi and Holosiivskyi districts during a morning attack, according to Klitschko.

Overall, Russian strikes have damaged 16 gas stations across Kyiv since the beginning of 2026, according to Andrii Tkachov, acting head of the Kyiv City Military Administration. Despite the repeated attacks, city authorities have said they do not expect them to cause fuel shortages in the capital.
