Ukraine Seizes Window of Opportunity for Missiles and Deep Strike Aid at UDCG

As Ukrainian drones strike deeper into Russia and battlefield gains continue to mount, Kyiv says the war has entered a crucial window of opportunity—one that demands faster action from its allies.
Responding to questions from a UNITED 24 Media journalist at the latest Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Brussels on June 18, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that visible progress on the battlefield, in the sky, and inside Russian territory proves an open window of opportunity.
Fedorov explained that clear metrics from previous operations have built trust with international allies, ensuring that previously pledged resources are transferred rapidly to meet immediate frontline needs.

"We showed concrete results in figures of military operations taking place with the deep strike, what is happening on the battlefield," Mykhailo Fedorov stated, underscoring that the current strategic environment is a vital window of opportunity.

"Everything is based on data, and I think that all our partners understand that this is indeed a window of opportunity. And the money that has already been, for example, announced, those resources that were announced, need to be given as quickly as possible now for what we need," he added.

According to Fedorov, the sequential nature of the UDCG meetings allowed Ukraine to demonstrate a consistent trajectory of success, reassuring partners that their investments correlate directly with strategic gains. This transparency facilitated the announcement of tailored packages addressing Ukraine's primary operational priorities for the immediate future.
Beyond immediate air defense assets, discussions in a closed format shifted toward securing an advantage in upcoming technological cycles. Fedorov urged allies to invest in emerging capabilities that have not yet entered widespread public discourse but will soon define the cross-border dynamics of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
"And we in a closed format have already talked about our next actions. How we will additionally intercept the initiative and defeat the Russians in each technological cycle, and why we need to invest today in what everyone is not talking about yet today, but what everyone will be talking about in the near future. About new types of types of drones. About ballistics and so on," Mykhailo Fedorov noted.

The Minister added that the recent structural adjustments and strategic events observed in Moscow serve as a strong validation of Ukraine's current military trajectory and data-driven approach.
"And it is important that today there were also announcements regarding cruise missiles, to missiles against against cruise missiles and shaheds. Also today there are hundreds of missiles that were announced. This is an important signal," Mykhailo Fedorov concluded.
At the latest Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Brussels, held in the Ramstein format, international partners pledged around $4 billion in military aid.
According to Mykhailo Fedorov, this total included a $1 billion aid package, marking one of the largest single commitments for this branch since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Additionally, allies announced a preliminary $500 million package for long-range artillery designed to strike targets at distances of over 30 kilometers, while the Netherlands pledged more than 700 cruise missiles to support Ukrainian defensive capabilities.
