The visit forms part of a broader two-day sequence of meetings in the United States. European representatives will also participate in these sessions.
The official Ukrainian delegation includes Foreign Intelligence Service head Rustem Umerov, Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov, his first deputy Serhii Kyslytsya, and the leader of the “Servant of the People” parliamentary faction, Davyd Arakhamia.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined the primary focus of the upcoming meetings with American and European officials, noting that discussions will center on strengthening air defense capabilities and accelerating financial assistance for Ukraine.

He explained that active communication continues not only with European partners, where positive but still insufficient progress has been made, but also with nations in Asia.
Furthermore, Ukraine and the United States are actively discussing initiatives regarding ceasefires on the sea and within the energy sector, though specific details remain undisclosed.
Zelenskyy noted that he engaged in discussions with the American side 3 times over the past 3 days. He also shared that he holds information regarding economic agreements between the United States and Russia, though he is currently unprepared to disclose details publicly, Babel reported.

Speaking to the Greek daily Kathimerini, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that the situation surrounding Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has reached a dangerous strategic stalemate, stating that “right now, there don't seem to be prospects of a negotiated settlement.”
Moscow subsequently agreed with Rubio’s assessment, with Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirming that Russia sees no current prospects for a diplomatic settlement, according to TASS.
On September 25, Zelenskyy stated that Washington had proposed a technical-level three-way meeting involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia.
Speaking to journalists, Zelenskyy noted that the American side suggested preparing the format and holding the talks in the United Arab Emirates, though no specific date had been set yet.
The proposal followed weeks of diplomatic efforts, including a briefing in Kyiv by US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner after their three-hour meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
