In the early hours of July 29, strike drones targeted a fuel train at a major railway junction in the city of Salsk, Rostov region, Astra reported, citing the regional governor.

“The fire broke out at the railway station. A passenger train was moved to a safe distance. Preliminary reports indicate there are no civilian casualties. Forty-five personnel and 12 pieces of equipment are involved in firefighting efforts,” the governor stated.

He added that a car caught fire near the station, and the person inside was killed.

The governor claimed that the drone strike allegedly hit “two fuel tankers and a locomotive” of the freight train.

Later, Russian Railways (RZD) announced that train traffic through the Salsk railway station had been suspended. They added that a freight train caught fire following the drone strike.

“Today, at 02:00, debris from a UAV (Unamed Aerial Vehicle) disrupted the overhead power line system at Salsk station in the Rostov region. A freight train at the station also caught fire. Train traffic through the station has been suspended,” Russian railway officials said.

According to Astra, passengers of the “Novokuznetsk–Kislovodsk” train, which was at the Salsk station at the time of the drone attack, have since returned to their train.

At the same time, the Telegram channel Ukraine context | russia no context published a photo showing a burning truck—likely a military vehicle—on a railway platform, located approximately 400 kilometers from the frontline.

It is claimed that the photos were taken at the railway junction in the Russian city of Salsk.

According to Militarnyi, this may indicate that the target of the drone strike was a military echelon of the Russian occupation army moving toward the Ukrainian border.

Earlier, drones reportedly struck the Kotovsk Powder Plant in Russia’s Tambov region, destroying one of the facility’s buildings.

Satellite images indicate that the facility is undergoing expansion, with several new production buildings under construction. While one structure appears visibly damaged, it remains uncertain whether the strike has impacted the plant’s broader operations or production capacity.
