Russia Unleashes 1,300 Drones on Ukraine in Just One Week, Zelenskyy Says

Since the beginning of September, Russia has launched more than 1,300 attack drones, nearly 900 guided aerial bombs, and around 50 missiles of various types against Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on September 6.
“Today at night there were again strikes on civilian infrastructure. All necessary services are working at the sites of the hits,” Zelenskyy noted. He added that explosions were recorded in nearly every region of Ukraine during the first week of the month.

According to the President, Russian forces struck targets in Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Kherson, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, and Lviv regions.
Zelenskyy stressed that Russia “continues to drag out this war, trying to turn diplomacy into an outright farce.” He argued that there must be a coordinated response to such actions: “to the shelling and destruction, to the disregard of diplomatic efforts and civilized dialogue.”
The President also referred to a recent statement by US President Donald Trump, saying: “Absolutely right is President Trump: to unblock diplomacy, effective restrictions on Russian oil and gas trade are needed.”

Zelenskyy reiterated calls for stronger sanctions, continued arms deliveries to Ukraine, and long-term security guarantees.
“A lasting peace requires effective and real security guarantees. We are working to implement all these components of a reliable peace in the future. I thank all partners who support Ukraine and our people,” he said.
Earlier, Russia heavily bombarded Kyiv overnight, collapsing part of a five-story apartment block in the Darnytskyi district. Officials confirmed 23 killed, including four children, and more than 60 wounded.
