On February 5, Russian forces launched attacks on Ukrainian rescue teams in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, resulting in damage to firefighting equipment, the State Emergency Service reported.
In the morning, Russian troops targeted a fire and rescue station in a frontline settlement in Zaporizhzhia. The strike caused damage to firefighting vehicles, as well as the building's roof, doors, and windows.

Fortunately, the personnel were sheltered at the time, and no rescuers were harmed.
Furthermore, Russian forces struck rescuers in Dnipropetrovsk while they were working to extinguish a fire in the Synelnykivka district. A firefighting vehicle was damaged in a follow-up drone attack.
However, the rescuers had already moved to a safe location, and no injuries were reported.

This is not the first time Russian forces target Ukrainian rescuers. In July 2025, Russian Molniya drone struck an evacuation vehicle near Pokrovsk, resulting in one fatality and three injuries.
According to Ukraine’s National Police, the rescue team—comprising the “White Angel” unit and chaplains—was targeted three separate times during the mission: upon approaching the city, inside the city center, and during the evacuation process itself.
Additionally, in the early hours of February 5, Russian drones targeted Kyiv once again.
The strike left two people injured, including a 79-year-old woman who was hospitalized and an 89-year-old woman who received medical treatment at the scene.

The attack mainly focused on the Solomianskyi district, where drone debris shattered windows in two residential buildings and damaged the facades of nearby structures and parked cars. No fires were reported in the area.
“Debris also fell near a shopping center. At another location, the facades were damaged, and windows were shattered in a kindergarten and a residential building,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko shared on Telegram.
Earlier, Ukraine condemned Russia’s strike on a civilian bus in the Dnipro region, which resulted in at least 15 deaths.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha confirmed that Russian forces intentionally targeted a bus carrying mine workers who were returning home after their shifts.
