Ukraine and World Bank Launch $200M PREPARE Ukraine Program for Post-War Recovery

Ukraine has signed an agreement with the World Bank to launch a five-year program called PREPARE Ukraine, with a total budget of $200 million. The agreement was concluded with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine on July 11.
The program aims to finance the preparation of national and local reconstruction projects so they meet international investor standards and can quickly move into implementation.
The initiative will be implemented by the Public-Private Partnership Agency, coordinated by the Ministry of Economy.

“Together with the World Bank, we are creating a systemic ‘preparation factory’ that minimizes delays, increases transparency, and paves the way for multibillion-dollar investments in the coming years,” said First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko.
An initial grant of $44.3 million will be provided by the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for Support, Recovery, and Reforms in Ukraine. These funds will be directed toward preparing projects for public investment and strengthening the capacity of public institutions.
The first portion of the funding will be available starting in August — it will be used to provide technical support for public sector clients and to develop the institutional capacity of the Agency itself.
Earlier, it was noted that the EU transferred approximately $163 million in a second grant tranche to support Ukraine’s rapid reconstruction—including infrastructure and port restoration—enhancing readiness for upcoming projects.
