Ukraine is working on securing alternative solutions following the U.S. suspension of intelligence sharing, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated on March 6 during a joint conference with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius.

“We have not yet received detailed information on how intelligence sharing will be restricted, but we are already working on alternatives,” Umerov stated.

The Ukrainian Defense Minister suggested that if necessary, Ukraine could request intelligence data from Germany.

On March 5, CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed that the United States has temporarily halted intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

NYT later reported that the U.S. intelligence-sharing pause with Kyiv impacts early warnings about Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian military and civilian targets.

On March 6, French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu confirmed that France has offered to share intelligence with Ukraine as Washington pauses its intelligence cooperation with Kyiv.
