Poland had F-16 fighters and an airborne early-warning aircraft already in the sky during Russia’s latest mass attack on Ukraine. Yet a likely Kh-101 cruise missile still traveled nearly 100 kilometers—about 62 miles—through NATO airspace before exploding in a field and leaving a 10-meter crater.

Russia unleashed more than 350 missiles and drones across Ukraine overnight, killing at least eight people—including a family whose home was destroyed by a ballistic missile—and leaving dozens wounded.
