German defense technology firm ARX Robotics and Ukrainian robotics developer Roboneers have announced the creation of a joint venture, ARX Industries, to serially manufacture unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), the company told Militarnyi on June 25.

The newly established enterprise will focus its initial manufacturing power on producing the Lynx Pro platform to equip the Ukrainian Defense Forces. In a statement provided to the defense publication, the German firm confirmed that the strategic partnership is explicitly designed to satisfy the skyrocketing demand for battlefield robotics.

The initiative is set to play a pivotal role in helping Ukraine achieve its state defense objective of supplying 50,000 autonomous ground systems to frontline units by the end of 2026, Militarnyi wrote. To ensure supply-chain resilience, ARX Industries will distribute its assembly and manufacturing footprints across dedicated production sites in both Germany and Ukraine.

During its inaugural year of operation, the joint venture plans to roll out several thousand UGV platforms, with structural blueprints in place to steadily scale capacity to tens of thousands of robotic units annually in subsequent years. According to Militarnyi, the highly modular “Lynx Pro” platforms will be immediately integrated into high-risk operations to preserve human life.

The autonomous vehicles are slated for casualty evacuation missions, forward tactical logistics, the transport of specialized mine-laying and demining modules, and direct kinetic combat deployments.

Aside from the standard manufacturing pipeline, ARX Industries' scope will encompass comprehensive lifecycle management, including technical maintenance and localized field service support for robotic fleets.

The enterprise is being carried out under the umbrella of the bilateral Build with Ukraine program, receiving direct political and regulatory backing from the governments of both Ukraine and Germany to bolster international defense-industrial cooperation, Militarnyi reported.

The industrial partnership builds upon an established operational footprint, as the German developer had already deployed hundreds of autonomous ground systems to frontline units. Before localizing manufacturing, the firm maintained a dedicated domestic team to integrate continuous battlefield feedback into immediate hardware and software modifications, prioritizing low thermal and acoustic signatures, extended range, and nocturnal operational capacity.

These initial deployments primarily supported tactical logistics and casualty evacuations, creating the collaborative framework necessary to scale up to full-scale serial production.
