Ukraine Strikes Occupied Mariupol Port Used for Russian Military Logistics and Illegal Grain Exports

Units of Ukraine's Defense Forces struck facilities at the Mariupol Commercial Sea Port in the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) reported on June 10.
According to the statement, the operation was carried out jointly by the SBS, the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov,” the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Special Operations Center “A.”

The military said the port had been used by Russian forces for military logistics purposes, as well as for the illegal export of Ukrainian grain, coal, and metal products to Russia.
The strike caused damage to the port’s energy systems, repair facilities, and command infrastructure, as well as other assets supporting its logistical operations.
“As a consequence of the attack, the port has been left without power. Russia's ability to use Mariupol as a logistics hub has been significantly restricted,” the SBS stated.
Additionally, in May, Ukraine’s 1st National Guard Corps “Azov” stated its long-range drone operations are placing key Russian supply routes in southern Ukraine under fire control, with strikes targeting military logistics along roads connecting Mariupol with Taganrog and Volnovakha.
In footage, Ukrainian drones are shown tracking traffic movements, identifying Russian military vehicles, and striking targets along routes used by Russian forces within the so-called land corridor to occupied Crimea.
According to Azov, the objective of the strikes is to deny Russian troops secure logistical corridors in the Azov Sea region and to push Ukraine’s “sanitary zone” for enemy supply lines closer to Russia and occupied Crimea.

“The territory of Ukraine must be free of Russian troops. The most reliable way to achieve this is to move the ‘sanitary zone’ for enemy logistics closer to Russia itself and occupied Crimea,” the unit stated.
Beyond infrastructure at the Mariupol port, Ukrainian forces also targeted vessels operating in occupied coastal waters. On June 5, SBS Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi reported that Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces targeted five vessels in temporarily occupied territories.
The strikes were carried out in the ports of Mariupol and Berdiansk, as well as in coastal waters of the occupied areas.

In a statement, Brovdi said the vessels were involved in the “stealthy theft of Ukrainian grain” and were also used to transport military cargo and fuel, adding that such ships “no longer have long-term survivability as large, relatively immobile targets.”
He noted that the operation was conducted by personnel of the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces. The targeted assets included both cargo ships and a tanker.

Beyond naval and port targets, Ukrainian units are increasingly integrating new drone systems into strikes on logistical routes in occupied regions.
Recently, Ukraine’s 412th Nemesis Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces has revealed details of a domestically developed strike drone called MORRIGAN, which the unit says is being used to target Russian military logistics along key supply routes connecting temporarily occupied Mariupol and Crimea.
The MORRIGAN is a fixed-wing strike drone developed in cooperation with operators from the 412th Nemesis Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces. It is described as a medium-range strike platform designed to hit targets deep behind Russian-controlled lines.
