The support includes around $13.5 million for the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund, which coordinates the purchase of energy equipment for Ukraine, $5.5 million through UNOPS Ukraine and East Europe for equipment to protect energy facilities, and approximately $7 million through partners who are expected to deliver emergency assistance to Ukraine as quickly as possible.

Additionally, used equipment from the Assens power station in Kalundborg has been transferred to Ukraine. According to the embassy, this equipment is highly valuable to Ukraine, as components of older types are sometimes very slow to be supplied, or are no longer produced at all.

“Denmark supports Ukraine’s long-term security but also cares about ensuring that Ukrainian families live in warmth during the winter, despite the ongoing war in the country. Denmark stands by Ukrainians who are living in a reality that is very different from that of Denmark,” the statement read.

Furthermore, in November 2025, Denmark’s government and its parliamentary defense committee approved the details of a new military aid package for Ukraine, valued at $217 million.

This package marks the 28th installment of military assistance that Denmark has committed to Ukraine since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

The new aid includes $15 million in additional funding for the “Danish model,” a strategy that promotes the production of weapons directly in Ukraine. This initiative aims to bolster Ukraine’s domestic defense manufacturing capabilities, ensuring a more resilient and sustainable arms supply.

Earlier, Denmark became the first NATO member to officially grant Ukraine permission to establish defense manufacturing within its borders, marking a significant shift in Europe’s support for Kyiv.

The new facility will be located in the southern town of Vojens, where the Ukrainian company Fire Point is set to open a plant focused on producing solid rocket fuel.
