Russia launched four Iskander/KN-23 ballistic missiles on Kyiv, with the attack beginning around 5 am, damaging residential buildings and office infrastructure, killing one person and injuring four, Ukrainian State Emergency Service (SES) reported on February 12.

Debris fell on the rooftops of buildings in various districts of Kyiv, with the city administration reporting fires in four districts.
Additionally, nine private houses in the Kyiv region were damaged due to falling debris. One office building was completely destroyed by fire.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to Russian ballistic missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, saying “This Russian terror against Ukraine will not stop by itself. Putin is not preparing for peace – he continues to kill Ukrainians and destroy cities. Only strong steps and pressure on Russia can stop this terror.”

The shelling of Kyiv on February 12 was one of the most massive in recent times. Russia used a significant number of ballistic missiles to attack the city. Notably, this occurred as the US administration announced its delegation’s arrival in Kyiv just days before the Munich Security Conference.

Earlier, two people were killed in an airstrike on Krasnopil in the Sumy region, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on civilian infrastructure in the Krasnopil community of the Sumy district, deploying two guided aerial bombs.
The attack resulted in the deaths of a 40-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman.
