In April and March 2026, Ukraine launched many long-distance strikes on Russian military and industrial targets over 1000km away multiple times. This has shown Ukraine’s increased capacity to target Russia even past the Ural Mountains routinely. 

Ukraine has surpassed Russia in the number of long-range drone strikes launched in a single month, a part of the war Moscow once dominated. Very few of Russia's military targets deep inside its territory can now feel "safe."

Ukraine’s systematic campaign against Russian air defense systems is turning once heavily protected airspace into a network of exploitable gaps. With dozens of confirmed hits on launchers and radars in the first months of 2026 alone, Kyiv is reshaping the geometry of the battlefield and forcing Moscow into impossible choices.
